We treated ourselves to an alarm free morning, our body clocks woke us early but we enjoyed dozing for a few hours. We got up and made ourselves breakfast in bed. We had coffee, cereal, yoghurt and fruit. We spoke with Joe and Henna on FaceTime, who had been on holiday and to Glastonbury in the last few weeks. We chatted for over an hour until Joe had to go and Henna needed to head to her night shift. Then Josh quickly caught up with his mum before we left to go explore our new town. We left our laundry with our host who said she would get sorted for us. We went for a coffee in the café we had been to yesterday and then strolled along the seafront. Along the seafront there are traditional reed canoes that the fishermen have used here for over 2500 years. The fishermen straddle them like a horse, hence the name ‘caballitos de totora’.

We ended up having lunch in a small burger place that trip advisor gave good reviews to, and were handed a marker pen to sign the walls with as we left. We walked back via the panederia and fruit/veg market of the town, where we picked up some bits to make dinner with. We got in and spoke to mum and dad on FaceTime, who have just got back from a trip to the Faroe islands. Dad diagnosed Josh’s rib injury as a cracked rib, which Josh seems pleased with! We drank a bottle of wine whilst Josh edited some photos and I wrote this, thank goodness because we have been lugging it around since we woke up with it in our room when Goldie and Marky were with us! We ended up popping along to a hostel a few doors down for some mojitos at happy hour and played some table tennis before home and bed.
