21/08/2019 – Puno, Peru

I had spent the whole night with awful abdominal cramps, and had been writhing around in pain between trips to the communal toilet opposite. Not the ideal scenario! Beside myself in pain, I woke Josh up before sunrise, and he sat with me for most of the day whilst I wriggled around, making me dioralyte and feeding me loperamide and paracetamol at given intervals. Despite encouraging Josh to visit the Uros islands without me, he told me he was looking forward to a day of just chilling, as I normally can't bear to do that! I was completely gutted as had been so excited for that excursion, but there was no way I could leave the hotel room today. Josh only left to find himself food and to cancel our excursion to the Uros islands. He also managed to organise our transfer and bus to Copacabana for tomorrow. (A journey that made me a bit nervous at the thought!)
