Woke up still covered in glitter, feeling slightly worse for wear. I left Josh asleep and tidied up a bit before showering then hopping back into bed and falling asleep again. We resurfaced again after 11:00, and I had another shower to wash my hair. We tidied up a bit more and ate a crisp sandwich for breakfast. We spent a good few hours sat in bed drifting in and out of sleep and watching t.v., with the industrial fan directly on us. There was less activity out on the streets today, although certainly not quiet! I found a laundrette and dropped a big load in to pick up tomorrow. We got a pizza to takeaway from the restaurant opposite, we are friends with the owner now and he always seems happy to see us. We rested until about 17:00, when Henna and Joe came over with their takeaway pizza, and we lazed around at ours for a couple of hours. We walked through central Pelhourinho (the historical area) which was packed, there was loads of free stuff going on. It felt much more family orientated than the bloccos, and had a really nice atmosphere, groups of drummers on the side streets, a singer on the main centre stage on the square. We walked to bar Zulu, where we had been for dinner a few days ago and met Rohit, Lorenzo and Leo as well as some of Rohits friends who had just arrived in Salvador. Josh and I stayed alcohol free and had some fresh juice and shared a burger, and we all debriefed together after the last two days, which have been absolutely crazy! We said it is like Brighton Pride but x 1000! We walked home via a shop to buy some breakfast bits. We showered (again) and fell asleep pretty quickly to some t.v.
