It was muggy, cloudy and raining when we got up. We had breakfast and made some egg sandwiches for lunch and showered (it’s a two shower minimum kind of weather). We spent the morning playing games, monopoly deal, shithead and cheat. We had lunch in the house and then as the sun broke through the clouds we walked through the town and along the beach to the kayak hire shed. We payed 25 Real each (about £5) for 2 glass bottomed kayaks and a guide. We kayaked across a pretty windy patch of water to an island where the guide tied our boats together. We dumped our little waterproof bags on the sand and put our snorkels on and swam around the reef. There were all sorts of beautiful fish, bright blue and yellows, the colours just don’t seem real! Josh, Henna and Joe saw a pink yellow purple and green eel. After a couple of hours we kayaked back to the island, returned our hire gear and picked up our bags. We wandered slowly back along the beach and to the supermarket where we picked up some bits for dinner. We went back to the apartment, showered and sorted ourselves out before playing more games. We cooked a coconut rice and vegetable dinner, which went down a storm.

About us

We are Josh and Jen and we created this site so we could have somewhere to combine Jens writing and Josh's photos of our year traveling together. It is a little keepsake for us, and also a way for friends and family to keep up to date with where we are and what we are up to.
