We got up around 0800 and had some coffee. When we were a bit more awake we had a cereal breakfast with some yoghurt. Josh, Joe and I went to the shop whilst Henna showered. The town seems to be alive at all hours, we are here in peak season. At the same time it doesn’t feel too busy, just with a nice atmosphere. We got back to the apartment and made egg mayonnaise sandwiches to take out with us, and got ourselves ready for the day. We left at around 11:00 and walked an hour along the beaches to beach 4, a really quiet wide beach, where we could have our own space. We set our stuff down and went for a quick dip to cool off before digging into our packed lunch. We chilled, swam, read, napped, sunbathed and played with the nerf and the waboba for hours. At one point a guy who had obviously had a few too many drinks and was passed out in the shade near us woke up and started saying stuff at us but he soon got bored and left us in peace. A little bit later in the afternoon a group of young locals came and started pitching up their goalposts to play some beach football. We walked back towards home and set our stuff down on the sand again, the tide was out so there was a long stretch of shallows, perfect for playing with the waboba in. We bought some water and some Guarana (Brasilian berry soda) from a lady selling drinks from her house on the beachl. We listened to some music, and watched some people in the distance pose for their Instagram photos. When the sun was setting we walked back along the beach and home (via a crisp snack stop.) We showered and went out for some dinner. We went to a pizza place and shared a Brasilian bottle of red wine between the four of us. Afetrwards we walked through the town and browsed some of the shops, I have lost my bikini top so am keeping an eye out for a replacement. When we got home we played some Monopoly deal and went to bed at around midnight.

About us

We are Josh and Jen and we created this site so we could have somewhere to combine Jens writing and Josh's photos of our year traveling together. It is a little keepsake for us, and also a way for friends and family to keep up to date with where we are and what we are up to.
