We slept in and had a late breakfast. It was raining and overcast only 27*C, some welcome light relief from the intense heat! We got up in no rush and then went for a coffee in town. Cuban coffee is strong, black, Americano esque style and Josh and I feel very sophisticated now we can handle it! And when I say handle it I mean drink it and then bounce around like kids with ADHD for the next half hour/need the toilet immediately! Then we went to the bus station and registered ourselves for our journey on Friday.

We wandered through town, stopping at each tourist agency office for information on excursions for tomorrow, finally stopping for some wifi connection in the park. Mum sent over some pictures from the lonely planet Cuba guide which was so helpful!

Then we went back to the casa and had some cereal and snacks for lunch. Afterwards, we headed back into town, having decided on what we want to do tomorrow, and booked ourselves on the excursion. Whilst we were there the tourist information lady tried to hustle us into using her husbands taxi for Fridays journey! You’ve gotta give it to the Cubans for always trying to make that extra CUC or two!

We went back to the casa and chilled in the room for a couple of hours and did a bit of hand washing. Then we went out for dinner. We went to a place called San Jose recommended by our host Leo. It was definitely worth the 40minute wait, delicious food! We also treated ourselves to a few cocktails too – the alcohol measurements are for sure different to home, I was wobbly after two mojitos (I can usually handle at least three!) We bumbled home and got ourselves sorted and into bed as it is a bit of an earlier start tomorrow!
