We got up and went to our usual café (Atlantida) down the road for brekky (toast, butter, honey, scrambled eggs with bacon cheese and onions, bowl of mixed fruit – btw papaya is gross if you ask me, and pineapple juice!) then down the road to the local Cuban café for a coffee (it sure does perk me up!), then over the road to buy a couple of wifi cards to use in the wifi park later on. We buy the wifi cards for the park from a little cubby hole in a small portaloo-esque building, sometimes they ask for some ID and they log your details and your wifi card on a computer– I think its so they can keep track of what people are looking at on the internet! It is all very strict and there is often long queues for the wifi cards. If you go to buy a card later in the afternoon they are often sold out so I think there are a limited amount of cards available too! Then we walked over the bridge to the Varadero beach, another beautiful day! Josh got a sun lounger under a brolly in his hat sunglasses and rash vest (he is a sand diva, plus his pink skin craves shade) and I laid flat on my scarf in the blazing heat of the sun (I am a sun worshiper and maximise every minute I have!) Josh started his book which he is buzzing about (Lord of the Rings trilogy) and I continued to browse the South America guide book – every page I flick to seems to have something that takes my fancy,

I think it is going to be hard to narrow down and cherry pick what we are going to do with our time there! We also went for a couple of swims. I read Emilys diary of her time in India – it sounds like she is having an absolute ball, and really makes me want to travel around India too! I also drafted out some whatsapp messages so that when I log online later in the park the messages send through (a little way of making the 1 hour wifi cards last a bit longer!). At 16:00 we wandered down to the honey house café again for the legendary honey pizza, yet again it didn’t disappoint – cheese, tomato, onion and lashings of honey! so good! Then we went over the road and bought a couple of cold tukolas and went back to the beach. We finished our rum from yesterday as the sun was lowering and went for a swim – we saw long narrow bluish fish in the sea that we had been spotting every time we went over the bridge to Varadero. We went back to the casa and started to pack for its travel day tomorrow. We showered and then went to the wifi park. It is always crowded with people sat buried in their phones, with a few stray dogs wandering around (Josh always gives them a cuddle, they are so friendly!) Then we went back to the casa and got ourselves into bed.
