08/02/2020 – Kayaking, Ihla Grande, Brasil

Mums birthday! Spoke to Mum and Kate, England looks so cold, what a contrast to our tropical garden! Josh was wiped out with his tummy today, so I left him in bed with dioralyte, immodium and the ipad. Dom, James and I wandered down to the beach and hired some kayaks. Dominique is a kayak instructor so she taught us some tips and tricks! James and I teamed up, and James hooked his go pro up to the paddle. Dominique went in a kayak on her own. We did a beach crawl around the bay, stopping to rest, swim and sunbathe intermittently. Each little beach had its own character, some were quiet and peaceful and others with live music - Dominique treated it as a pub crawl and got boozey along the way. The sun was so strong, I had my rashvest on throughout the day and the others were topping their suncream up regularly. We got back to our town of Abroao and splayed out on the beach soaking up the rays. When it all got too much we put the kayaks back and found a panaderia for some food, which we scoffed immediately. We wandered back to the accommodation to check on Josh who had spent the day in bed. We showered and then played some games before wandering around town. Dom and James had dulce de leche churros from the street vendor which they say are the best churros they have every eaten! We played games throughout the evening and packed our bags, sad to be leaving tomorrow!
