We got up and had another yummy brunch. We spent the morning in the sun on the decking outside the cabin. We tried to organise meeting up with Carolina again, as she is in a holiday home nearby, but couldn’t quite coordinate it. It was a beautiful day so Josh grabbed our things and headed down to the beach. As soon as we had sat down on the sand we realised how windy it was. The sand hitting us felt like little needles! We decided to go for a long walk along the beach instead which was beautiful. The sea was very rough but it was inviting and there were a couple of groups of people braving it, so of course we had to too! We went in and played in the waves very very briefly, it was actually a little bit too rough and so I quickly got out as did Josh, it was fun but not worth the risk! We got out, dried off, and walked back to our little cabin where we again sat in the sun for a little while, I reading and Josh on his phone. In the evening Josh grabbed his camera and we went for a little walk so he could get some photos of our little area, and of the interesting little home made cabins that the locals lived in. I actually think a lot of the buildings are holiday homes – they must earn an absolute fortune from them they are all so expensive to rent! The cabin Josh and I have rented here, and the cabin we are going to tomorrow, are the only places along the whole coast of Uruguay that I could find we could afford (just!) I found that so surprising!
We went back home and ate a pasta and tomato dinner, showered (Mr frog that lives in our shower was very noisy this evening and made a few appearances!) and packed most of our things up, before getting inside our mosquito net and falling asleep to some Netflix.
