29/05/2019 – Day 2 Quito, Ecuador

We didn’t manage to get to sleep till late (I think from anxiety) so we also woke up late. We got ourselves sorted and then went to a coffee shop ‘Honey’ in the nearby plaza for breakfast- scrambled eggs, toast and coffee. With only one thing on our minds we went back to the hostel and spent a good few hours getting forms and receipts filled out in order to make an insurance claim for Josh’s camera and lenses. We reheated yesterdays’ dinner for lunch (vegetable pasta) and then went to the ATM for cash for the Galapagos. Needing some air and to unwind a little we wandered over to a studio for some eyebrow waxing. We want to feel good and excited for the Galapagos and stop thinking about the camera! Then we walked down to Union panaderia to buy a supply of croissants and rolls for tomorrow morning on our journey day. 6 items only cost 58 cent! We thought we must have misunderstood so gave over $5 but they gave us a load of change, it really was that cheap! We walked to the main square near our hostel that has restaurants and cafes and had a glass of wine before heading upstairs to a restaurant for a nice chicken burger dinner. We went home and packed a little bit before bed and some Narcos. I think we both struggled to drift off, too excited!
