Our day off today, and 3 years of JESH! We still had to sort out the animals. No rest for the wicked! We had breakfast and got ready, and then got a lift into town mid morning. We walked around the city centre for a little while, and bought some chorizo from an artisanal shop. Josh ate an alfajore, a traditional biscuit treat covered in white chocolate and with dulce de leche in the middle. Very sweet as you can imagine! We ended up in an Italian for lunch, called La Gringa, which we had found on trip advisor. We had some fresh pasta and pesto, which was delicious! You can’t beat Italian food! Then we walked down through the town to the supermarket where we stocked up on a few bits like bananas and cereal bars. They provide us with food for meals at the farm but there are no snacks and we need a little bit to keep us going! We then walked down the road to an olive oil farm, where we walked around the museum and tried the olives! Very nice. By this point it was 17:00 and we were done with walking around in the heat. We got picked up by Leonora here as planned, and dropped back at the farm. We chilled for a bit and showered before making ourselves a rice dinner that we shared with Frederico.

About us

We are Josh and Jen and we created this site so we could have somewhere to combine Jens writing and Josh's photos of our year traveling together. It is a little keepsake for us, and also a way for friends and family to keep up to date with where we are and what we are up to.
