I spent the morning catching up on the diary in bed with a coffee. Josh did a few hours of electrical work to make up his hours. Josh, Straughny, Ori and myself spent a few hours playing games – monopoly deal and a more intense and detailed version of snap. We all got quite competitive with it! The hostel is pretty empty during the day time as most people are out on excursions, so it is quite a nice time to laze around with the other volunteers. Josh and I walked to the supermarket and grabbed some bits of food before coming back and getting into our running clothes. We used Strava to map ourselves out a 5K run along the lake. What a beautiful setting for a jog! I showered and then opened the bar up for the night. Josh made us a rice dinner, which we ate in the empty bar. There was a nice small sociable crowd in the bar by the end of the night. A young English girl who is travelling alone came and chilled with us along with a retired Canadian man who has rented a car and is road tripping down to Patagonia for 6 weeks. It is generally quite a mixed crowd here, and is really sociable so people tend to have a good time here and extend their stay. Josh helped me close up at 23:30 and we got all the guests into their rooms, locked the place up and went to bed.

Josh did his last electrical shift in the hostel, and I had my last bar shift today! We wandered through town for the last time together...

About us

We are Josh and Jen and we created this site so we could have somewhere to combine Jens writing and Josh's photos of our year traveling together. It is a little keepsake for us, and also a way for friends and family to keep up to date with where we are and what we are up to.
