Josh and I got up, had a coffee and fed the animals. We are minus a hen since yesterday afternoon, but Leonora has said not to worry as she thinks that hen was sick because she had been laying weird eggs or something!? I guess that is life! We had breakfast and then started work. Josh varnished some furniture in the guest rooms that he had sanded down the other day. I swept the hall, sorted a guest bedroom out and then did some gardening! I have been given some gardening clothes to put on, some wellies, and listened to a podcast whilst pretending to know the difference between a weed and a flower! It was warm but overcast again today, so not too hot to be out in the garden.

Leonoras husband, Miguel, got back from a trip to America today. He is Mr big guns when it comes to telefericos (cable cars) and so it was a business trip to discuss plans for him to move there for 6 months to help with the development of the cable car systems at Disneyland. He is an engineer and helped with the teleferico system in La Paz originally. He has also been offered a one year project in London for 2020 so he is asking quite a lot of questions about living in London. I have found London is quite a difficult place to describe to someone from Bolivia! He is also asking about living costs, because he is negotiating his pay, and that is quite difficult too!

Today is Casper and Samanthas last day, so we are having a big asado (BBQ) lunch. Miguel cooked it for us and we helped by making chips and a salad. Red wine and a craft beer were shared around as a little social drink. Josh is now a red wine convert, he must be maturing!

After lunch Casper Josh and I played football with Alex. Although it was overcast it was still bloomin’ hot and we were very sweaty by the time it was over!

I had a shower and then we chilled for a bit before it was time to feed the animals. There were five newborn baby geese! All yellow and fluffy! The mother hissed at us even more as you can imagine, so we chucked some polenta over the gate and ran. We fed the rest of the animals before chilling in our room. We were pooped by this point, and both had an accidental siesta!

We had a rice and vegetable dinner and then bed.

About us

We are Josh and Jen and we created this site so we could have somewhere to combine Jens writing and Josh's photos of our year traveling together. It is a little keepsake for us, and also a way for friends and family to keep up to date with where we are and what we are up to.
