We got up for 0800 as usual, and had breakfast and a coffee. We spent the morning doing a few little jobs (I couldn’t even tell you now what Josh was up to, all I know is there was a mix of quick dry cement, sealant, and quite a lot of drill and saw use, and we are either found under a sink or at the top and bottom of the ladder! We cleaned some lamps from the outside wall today too. After work we walked to the shop to buy a few snacks. The local shop is basically like a Macro at home, a big warehouse called ‘Diarco’ that restaurants can buy stock from. Liliana told us that they had to open it up to the general public as the shop just wasn’t going to survive otherwise. It means that when you find what you want you have to rip it out of a huge multipack box. We strolled around the gated community and found a little football pitch where we sat on a bench in the shade. When we got back to the house we went for a dip in the pool, very refreshing! We showered and then sat in the kitchen as Liliana finished making dinner. We ate outside, it was a great temperature and it was just starting to get dark at around 20:15. This meant we could appreciate Joshs work of putting a light sensitive light sensor up on the wall. Sure enough, the light clicked on as the sun started to set. Except, it kept turning off again after a few seconds, and then turning on again for a few seconds and so on. Josh started saying that maybe it was where the sunlight was just getting dark, until he realised his mistake! He had installed the sensor next to the light, so every time the light came on, the light it then emitted then meant the light sensor would think it was too bright and turn itself off again. We were all in hysterics, (especially me) and I very nearly wet myself with laughter!
We ate a beautiful mushroom pie, like a vegan version of shepherds pie, with some bread. It was very very nice. Liliana is such a good cook! She told us that she used to work for a restaurant, where her role was to come up with the menu ideas. For pudding we had delicious oven baked apples which had been de-cored and the hole stuffed with nuts, raisins and cinnamon. Sooooo good, definitely one to do with some of grannys apples at home! It was very pleasant to eat outside but there were lots of mosquitos around so we were itching (literally) to get back inside again by the end. We washed and cleared up and then up to bed.
