Had a nice catch up sleep. I woke up to being told that Uri, one of the volunteers here, had been bitten by the bouncers dog in the club last night. I went to his room and saw he had a puncture wound on his cheek which he had put back together himself with steri-strips in the club last night before carrying on with his drinking and dancing. I sent him to hospital with his credit card! He came back with antibiotics, a cleaned and closed wound but no rabies treatment.

I went to the supermarket with Josh and we bought some groceries. The hardware shop is above the supermarket so Josh bought a few things for work up there. We went back to the hostel and had a nice brunch and then I went and chilled upstairs in our room while Josh carried on with his electrical stuff.

Nea and I went out to the lake and did some yoga on the grass. It was a really dynamic, physical session. She is so strong and flexible and definitely pushes me, which has been so nice!

I showered and then started on dinner – coconut rice and vegetables. We ate it at the bar, which I opened up for the evening. Guests and volunteers alike were worn out after the week of fun, so it was a much more relaxed vibe. I actually ended up sitting in the lounge with everyone for most of the night, occasionally popping back to the bar to pull a pint or two.

Josh did his last electrical shift in the hostel, and I had my last bar shift today! We wandered through town for the last time together...

About us

We are Josh and Jen and we created this site so we could have somewhere to combine Jens writing and Josh's photos of our year traveling together. It is a little keepsake for us, and also a way for friends and family to keep up to date with where we are and what we are up to.
