We woke up at 10:00, and Josh had a bit of a fuzzy head after last nights drinks! We spent the morning making the most of the air conditioning and good WiFi, and booked a load of stuff for the next couple of weeks in both Argentina and Uruguay. We popped to the local shops and bought a few bits to make lunch with. It is a bit old fashioned here in that you have to go to a greengrocers for fruit and vegetables, a panederia for bread and then there is a little minimarket for basics, we know what is where by now though and have been greeted with friendly familiar faces! We made brunch and then resumed chill position again. When Josh decided he needed some sweet treats he started to get some money out of the wallet when he realised we are pretty low on Argentinian pesos! This could be a bit tricky for tomorrow when we need to get to the airport. I googled cambios and we realised we had 1.5 hours until they all closed, and most of them were not open again until Monday! We rushed out the house towards the main square to the road of cambios. We found one with a better exchange rate and went in, and then got asked us for a passport, which we had forgotten! We had to power walk 20 minutes home and then 20 minutes back to the cambio, which was one way to get our 10000 (+++) steps in! We had to say we were staying with friends as I don’t know what the legal situation with air bnb is. Eventually we had some pesos back in our wallet and we could slowly wander home. We went into a couple of shops on the way just to stand in the air conditioning! We bought a few groceries for dinner and went home to lie down in the ac! We showered and made some pasta, did a little bit more admin and chilled for the evening. One of the girls staying at the house started chatting to us. She lives in Buenos Aires and has given us her number so we can get in touch when we are there and she has offered to show us around! Such a kind gesture from someone we met for a total of ten minutes! We will definitely try and take her up on that.

About us

We are Josh and Jen and we created this site so we could have somewhere to combine Jens writing and Josh's photos of our year traveling together. It is a little keepsake for us, and also a way for friends and family to keep up to date with where we are and what we are up to.
