We had another nice lie in. Josh was sleeping like a baby and I thought he would never wake up! I messaged mum and dad for a bit and read my Kindle. When it got to 10:00 I made coffee, flushed the toilet, and put my phone on loud and Josh still didn’t wake up! Those silicone earplugs are good stuff! Dad said he was busy after 10:30 so I woke Josh up just before that so I could give mum and dad a quick call. We chatted on the wifi and showed them our new digs. Peter came and invited us for lunch at 14:00 again. (It is too expensive for us to decline food!) It was raining, so Josh edited some photos and I read my kindle for the morning, it was lovely and relaxed. We went up to the house and we set the table. We had pasta and mixed vegetables today. There was a lot of football chat, and Peter was a bit excited when I said my brother was an Arsenal fan. He actually made me Whatsapp Bobby to ask his opinion on a Swiss player that plays for Arsenal! Josh and I washed up and then went back to our studio. We had been given some cake, which we had with a coffee on the garden chairs outside our studio, in the now glorious sunshine! The weather changes quickly here. Ringo, the huge golden lab mixed with I don't know what, sat with us too. We got our stuff together and hopped in the car again for the afternoon. We went up the coastal road and to a little car park by the cliff. We walked around on the footpath to a tiny beautiful secluded beach. It had signs saying not to swim so we went for a little explore instead. The rocks were a reddish colour and the sea such a beautiful blue! It was sunny but windy, t-shirt and jeans weather. We drove further around the coast to Anakena beach, the white sand beach we had visited yesterday. This time we had our swimming stuff. We went into the water, which was genuinely o.k. once we were in! The waves in the bay were quite big and there were a good few people playing around in the water. When we started to get chilly, we got out, changed, and into the car to warm up. It was 18:15 by this point, so definitely not the warmest part of the day! We drove back on the other main road back to our accommodation. When we got in we deep cleaned our studio because the volunteers before us hadn’t done much of a clean when they left. It took a little while but looked, smelt and felt much better. It is a nice little space! We had some gnocchi and vegetables for dinner, showered and chilled. First day of actual work tomorrow!
