We got an Uber to the airport at check out time. Our host was expecting more guests so we left earlier than was necessary which meant we had quite a long time at the airport. It is so weird because there are literally vineyards in the airports carpark! Vineyards everywhere! We found a café and got a nice breakfast whilst we waited for check in and luggage drop off to open. We were some of the first to check in, went through security and used the free wifi to pass the time. We boarded the plane and were only just over an hour in the air flying to Cordoba. This passed very quickly with the help of some podcasts. We picked up our luggage and then tried to figure out a way to get to the city. The airport is quite far from the centre so we got the bus but then had to walk a good 15 minutes in sweltering heat with our big rucksacks. Eventually we got to our air bnb address, which was a big block of apartments. We figured out which bell to call, were buzzed in and then felt a bit confused as to where to go. After sneaking in a lift and knocking on the wrong door we came back down to the lobby where our host was waiting for us! There is a bit of a language barrier between us but she seems friendly! She welcomed us in, showed us our room and gave us the keys. It is a beautiful 4 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with some beautiful wooden parquet flooring, a balcony and a nicely done kitchen. It seems like either a student flat or a flat with lots of temporary residents coming and going. There is a cat called Umma who is the most beautiful friendly cat I have ever met! We settled ourselves in and joined the WiFi before looking up somewhere for dinner. We walked into an area called Guemes, which felt as hip as being in East London, full of bars, restaurants and some little design shops, that were still open! I had read somewhere that there are 7 universities in this city, so it is full of young people and definitely has a good buzz about it! We went into a thriving bar/restaurant called Chilli street food for dinner and soaked up the atmosphere.
