We woke up at around 11:00 Santiago time. Easter Island is 2 hours behind, so there is a slight time difference for us to get used to! We walked around the corner to the supermarket to buy some food, and stopped at a café for a coffee on the walk back. The hostel is really nice and chilled. Our double room opens out to a courtyard so we had the doors open, enjoying the warmth of the day, it must have been at the least 28°C. We made the most of the decent WiFi, updating all of our tech, downloading podcasts and Netflix tv, browsing social media, plus we had Friends on in the background on the Smart TV. Complete bliss! We ate the leftovers of last nights takeaway. By about 15:30 we decided to get ourselves out the house so we showered and got our things together. We stopped at a lovely little cupboard of a coffee shop on the way, we have missed nice coffee so much over the last month! We walked to La Chascona - the house of Pablo Neruda, a Nobel prize winning Chilean poet, diplomat and politician. We looked around his beautiful house, at all his quirky collections, art and décor. It had so much character and was very mid century. The house is in the Barrio Bellavista district of Santiago, a wonderfully leafy, bohemian area that we enjoyed walking through. We walked home via the supermarket for some dinner. The supermarket had a few random bits of Waitrose essentials stock which was quite surprising! We made chicken wraps and then played some table tennis in the courtyard.
