Todays’ jobs included cleaning and varnishing, like most of the other days here! Peter was still on the mainland so the work was pretty chilled and self directed. I did some laundry and Josh went and collected Peter from the airport. He was back by about lunchtime. Anabel and Leo were excitedly hanging from each of Peters arms, which Tiare explained was because he would have brought presents back with him. It did remind me of when dad used to get back from his trips with all sorts of tee shirts and souvenirs from random places. I can vividly remember a Salt Lake City tee shirt and a tee shirt with lots of different animals paw prints all over it. I can also vividly remember that same excitement, and helping dad to unpack so I could get to the presents sooner! They did exactly that, and Peter gave in and opened the suitcase up to reveal a supermarket sweep of pink outfits and chocolate and puzzles for the girls, which they were very pleased with. Josh was in amazement at the amount of presents, but I just had to remind of the Christmas stockings in Brook Lane for him to understand it. Peter also brought a huge suitcase back filled with frozen meat, which was quite amusing! We had a lovely rice and a chicken stew for lunch. Josh and I cleared up and went back to our studio. Josh had a bit of a dodgy tummy today so spent the afternoon chilling in the room. I walked down to the maoi heads and sat on the grass, listening to a podcast and enjoying the sun and the view. I had forgotten how much I like podcasts! Can’t wait to have some better WiFi to download some more. When I got back we had lunch leftovers for dinner, showered and read our books.

Josh did his last electrical shift in the hostel, and I had my last bar shift today! We wandered through town for the last time together...

About us

We are Josh and Jen and we created this site so we could have somewhere to combine Jens writing and Josh's photos of our year traveling together. It is a little keepsake for us, and also a way for friends and family to keep up to date with where we are and what we are up to.
