03/10/2019 – Day off, Easter Island, Chile

Josh dropped the girls off to school with Tiare at 07:45. It is our day off but Josh agreed to do the school drop offs whilst Peter is on the mainland. Tiare cannot drive, and Peter has told us she isn’t keen to learn. Then Josh got back into bed and we snoozed whilst watching some Friends on the ipad. We had some scrambled eggs and read our books for the morning. Tiare dropped in some empanadas for our lunch. We had those and then drove into town where we browsed the shops. Josh still needs a magnet form here! Our national park tickets have expired now, but we have done most of the known sites, so we are going to spend the next couple of days relaxing, and soaking in the magnificent scenery. We went down to the lido, a sheltered little area of sea water and paddled - the water was freezing! Then we lay in the sun for a little while. We drove to the museum and had a wander around. Then we came home and read our books for the rest of the evening!
